THE KOALA IN THE COALMINE

This satirical campaign video is the work of Land Water Future. The mock promotional clip pokes fun at the Shenhua (a Chinese state-owned company) proposed mine site on the NSW Liverpool Plains, which faces an uncertain future because some selfish koalas choose to inhabit the area.

A community legal challenge claiming the NSW government did not properly consider the impact on the local population of koalas has pushed paws on Shenhua's $1,200,000,000 – yes, that's 1.2 billion – extractive dreams.
